i constantly feel as if i am screaming and no one's even listening, and i wanted to express that feeling of exclusion and defeat in a poem.

but you can't be heard

wanting to speak

but you can't find the words

feeling all alone

and it's getting real cold

even when the sun's shining

you still feel the snow

and the music's loud

but you can't sing along

you don't fit in with the crowd

no, your chains are too tight

do you, realize that

the things that are stopping you now

are just your insecurities

it's who you think you are

but you need to remember

that winter fades to spring

cherish the moments

that you get to spend 

and the people dance

but you don't know the moves

to the song that we all sing

our broken hearts, healing souls

find your missing piece

it might be hard to face the world

when it feels like no one cares

it's hard to try and find your voice

when no one's ever listening

and my heart beats fast

i spin around cause i know now

that i can trust you

it's not so cold, anymore

frost on my windowsill

snowflakes flutter down

but for the first time

i feel the sun
