A Poem by Allison

Deep within me,
In the darkest crevices of my very being,
There is a single ember.
So little light, and so little warmth dare emanate forth.

Tonight, I have felt a fire grow inside my veins, leaving bloodshot eyes and an emptiness so raw in its wake.

A single ember found an endless supply of oxygen
Into me I breathe a life-giver,
And out do I exhale fear.

Alone I sit under the countless stars,
Lightyears away...
I am
So very small.

I have awakened in the most terrifying sense.
I am but an empty body.

Oh! heavenly stars!
Spare me!
I ask but your continuance.
Your light doth bring what I have yet to find.

It is an endless road,
The answer to an endless question.
It is meaning I journey to find,
A reason that I sought with my entire, yet empty, being.

My depth may be limited,
But I yearn to change.
Bring me a depth beyond compare.
To enlighten and to be enlightened,
That is but a simple wish.
