Rabbit HoleA Poem by Rainee WhitingRabbit Hole As swiftly as I surfaced, I scurried back down the rabbit hole. A rapid descent from who I am, and the women they think they know. Into the dark dampened earth, comfort I find within the ground. Out of sight and of mind, my frantic breathing the only sound. When forced I will appear, on the surface and in the light. Ducking in shadows, leaping along fences, a rabid animal, hiding in plain sight. When approached I growl in panic, me, myself, and I fear the emotions that grow, so we bite at the arms that wrap us, and leap back down the rabbit hole. Rainee
