Forever, beyond death...A Poem by Rainee Whiting"Forever, beyond death..." I can still taste his cigarette on my mouth, and smell the liquor on his breath. In a whisper I hear his promise, "I'll love you forever, beyond death." Early morning comes, I imagine his hand tracing across my skin. The sound of his laughter cuts through me, as it's carried in the wind. On his desk his notebooks lay open, next to a picture of him and me, his wife. Another day I fall to my knees and weep, in the room where he took his life. Rainee © 2016 Rainee WhitingReviews
