Unbroken Chain

Unbroken Chain

A Poem by Vicky
"

Honestly, just a random mess of feelings that I happened to turn into a poem.

"

My fingers are softly aching

From the sweet sounds of a guitar

My hands are trembling

From the monsters attacking my mind

My mind is spinning

From the confusion you cause me

My arms have goose bumps

From the music flowing through my ears

My mouth is smiling

Because old memories have been revived

But my eyes are frowning

Because the memories don’t last.

My mind is urging me to go outside

To do something risky, something worth it

Like the others,

But the darkness keeps me here.

When the day breaks,

My eyes gaze at the sun,

Because I long to roam the bright and humid streets.

Among all of the people with nameless faces

Walking without exchanging any words, only blank glances,

Losing my sense of reality.

I deserve more than to just sit here,

Here in the familiar room,

And the faces with names.
