Words are Hurtful

This isn't meant to insult anyone but if you don't appriciate gay pride then don't read further heheh just kidding I really don't care Read away

Sticks and stones

Will break my bones

But words will never hurt me?

 

Do you remember

When we were little

And this saying

Was our only defense?

Our parents told us

So we wouldn't go and cry

To them as soon as someone

Said something "mean"

So that we could

"Stand up for ourselves"

 

But now, some of us

Are not that strong

To fight the ones

Who think they "belong"

Most of us will die

Whether it be from murder

Or suicide

But either way most of us will

 

The reason,

Is because of our sexuality

Because we are gay

And they don't like that

No, because the bible

Says that it is wrong

It's wrong to love someone

It's wrong to be acttracted

To someone of the same gender

 

When they threaten us

I can speak for all of us; it's scary

But it isn't nearly as hurtful

As the words they spit

Towards us

And that alone is scarier than threats

Because of that it makes us worry

That if the next time it happens

It might trigger something

And we might...

 

So the next time you hear

The expression:

 

Sticks and Stones

Will break my bones

But words will never hurt me

 

Don't be so naive to believe it
