RunningA Poem by Wingless Angel of DreamsHit the track. and run till the end.
A gun screams your name. You escape at high speed. Run. Run. Run. Faster now. You want to stop. You body cries for a break. But you can’t. You can’t give up. You don’t give up. You slow. The turns keep you rounding. A constant run in circles. You go, Trying to pass that one person ahead You race for the finish There’s no more speed No more strength No more breathe in your throat A scathing thirst stings each inhale You can’t stop now Your pride is against it You mind is screaming to move on Finally it comes. The moment of the race You and that other Hit the turn 200 meters to go 150. You bring it up a notch. 100. Faster! you think. You try to sprint. Although nothing is left One arm runs the length of your torso The other follows suit. You legs length their stride Your feet push on forward Just a little more, and it’s done 50 meters left. You need to stop You want to stop. You slow just a bit, Screaming inside you need to go You need to finish You need to find that last spark. Finally you reach it No air in your lungs, You huff You’re tired And thirsty as hell But that rush isn’t gone Your just ran you race, Chasing your goal. Scoring your prime time
