Can Anyone Love Something Hopeless?

Can Anyone Love Something Hopeless?

A Poem by Shyla
"

Is there any answer on how to stop the revolving door in my life called getting hurt?

"
I moved from one place to the next,
While they waited on my monthly check,
I am not one to feel sorry for myself,
But in all these places I felt like an empty shelf;

I feel alone,
Can someone throw a dog a bone?
The words you speak hurt,
You walk all over me like dirt;

Why am I alive?
When in a place like this I cannot thrive.
Show me how to be happy,
Give me a love sweet and sappy,

Stop my pain,
Please don't be vain,
I feel sorrow,
Is there any joy I can borrow?

This has potential. There's a je-ne-sais-quoi quality to it that's brilliant and another that I find it's lacking. It might take me a few more reads to figure it out - whether or not there actually IS something missing, or if it was just my imagination. But overall it's filled with juicy lines and the progression is wonderful. You say not to judge you on possible grammatical errors, which I will not, but I will simply mention for future reference that the only grammatical errors found in this poem concern punctuation. Well done!
