Right, Mama?A Poem by ragelmarliA mother is meant to hold, love, care. Keep.
Bottled up.
That's mama. I guess I follow her example. Clothes all over the floor. I'm a lady. Aren't I? I should be clean. I should be an example. Poise, modesty, innocence. I should show some value. Make myself believe I'm worth owning a clean room. I'm such a lady. Bundled into a ball of tears and smeared make up. Dark circles under my dry eyes. Aren't you proud mama? I tried. Here I am. Bottled up. Bundled up. Sleeves stained with the mascara you taught me to wear. Nose runny. Chest stinging. Where's daddy when you need him... I close my eyes. Turn it down, she'll get mad. No, don't. Tune it all out. Aren't you proud mama.... © 2013 ragelmarliAuthor's Note
