Familiar TwingeA Poem by Aizathe smell of cigarettes on my father sometimes reminds me of the first guy i dated, who smoked as well. this is about the first time i took a breath of smoke..Dad has the faint smell of cigarettes That he wishes I didn't know about But the garage is full of the stench It really doesn't bother me, I miss the familiarity Of the first one Remember the smell before the taste, The choke on the first breath of smoke, How it burned my throat But the first one, he laughed at my distaste And took a huff eyes closed, blew it through his nose Then kissed me with that flavor, That i love(d) I recall the twinge The scent of his skin and his collar Smoke. And the coolness of his breath, of his kiss
