I Say

I Say

A Poem by Aiza

undeniable instances,
you wrote me
i wrote you
across the blackboard in the back
of my mind
i say, screw this place!
i say, run.

unmistakable occurrences,
you held me
i clung to you
for so long inside the memories, gone
beside the new ones i make
i say, screw this place!
i say, go.

unfinished excuses,
you hurt me
i never told you
of all the times i sobbed alone
in the corners of orange walls
i say, screw this place!
i say, i say, i say...

i am erasing the blackboard notes
that swung at the branches,
of the tree that i dreamed of
at the back of my mind
the back of my mind...
so i say,
screw this place.

The thing about blackboards is even when you erase the notes; the faded words are still there until it is cleansed. Even if only you can see them. It still leaves chalk residue behind.

I have an intense urge to paint a tree with blackboard tablets hanging from it..

I will let you have it when I am done.. :}
