I Am

I Am

A Poem by Aiza
"

this was an assignment for my 11th grade creative writing class. we were given an outline to follow, i personally don't like it, but it's still a poem of mine and here it is =]

"

I am a girl who makes funny faces and never stops thinking

I wonder who I will meet next

I hear life dancing through my veins

I see joy making it's way into my soul

I want to play like I did as a child, unrestricted

I am a girl who makes funny faces and never stops thinking

I pretend that I'm a princess who awaits her prince

I feel the burn of the stars as they wrap me in sleep

I touch laughter as a sign that happiness is within my reach

I worry that love is a word with  lost meaning

I cry for this selfish world in which we live

I am a girl who makes funny faces and never stops thinking

I understand that opinions are different, but the outcome will be the same

I say that hands are meant for holding

I dream of things I can't make sense of

I try to find inspiration in daily life

I hope for strength when challenges arise

I am a girl who makes funny faces and  never stops thinking
