Yesterday

Yesterday

A Poem by RaeStems

It feels like it was yesterday, that I first saw you.
The cutest damn boy, I had ever seen.
I wanted to hold you, I wanted to scream.
You were so cute
And I felt so bad
No self esteem
You began to shape into this lovely person
I had never imagined seeing
Who’s laugh had captured deep within me
A picture of the path that I would choose to take

You are a picture perfect miracle
Painted into a human being
with a personality so magical,
like you were crafted for a different scene.

I wanted to keep you, and celebrate the life
That shines so strong between us
Like the brightest of all lights.

Each day had brought me closer
From the first up to last night
To calling you my soul mate
right now it just feels right.

I’m always thinking of you
How I can bring that smile upon your face
I want to grow much farther
I’ll keep you in my fate
As long as you so wish to
In my heart, you have a place.

I can’t believe it’s been 10 months now.
It feels like I met you yesterday.

But then I realize it’s just a fraction

Of the years we’ll spend away

You said you want to float away dear
In a fluffy cloud for two.
But if you close your eyes
We’re out there
In the stars and in the moon
And when you look up in the night sky
Don’t be surprised if you do find
Some of our memories within them
Just like looking in your eyes.
