Through the Looking Glass

Through the Looking Glass

A Poem by Rayne~Drop.
"

Take a look through the glass...What can you see? Nothing.

"

Through the Looking Glass

Look through the glass,

And what can I see?

The outside world,

And not me.

I can see out,

But they can't see in.

I glare at the wall,

Patience wearing thin.

I don't want to except

That I've been left alone.

So I wait and I wait

with an expression of stone.

As time passes,

I've come to realize,

That the longer I wait,

The more I tell myself lies.

I want someone to come,

Save me from the dark.

But I've been alone to long,

The cold has made it's mark.

So I sit by myself,

Paralyzed except my mind.

Waiting on nothing,

Wondering why I've been left behind.

Our environment does reflect in our lives and we often feel cut off from that environment either know we live inside it. This does create conflicting feelings inside of us. I'm often felt I've been "left alone" but in the end that isolation does give me time to meditate on my situation and time to reach a successful conclusion-- a poem we can all relate to. Well put.

its dark and beautiful...as a reader i was actually able to feel the isolation going through writers mind...and i am sure most of us go through this feeling at some point in time...and at times the isolation stays for so long that we began to accept is as a prt of ourself..our lives... it is then that this conflict between thoughts of trying to break free and staying isloated begans to torment our minds.
a write well penned!

This is beautifully tragic. I love the flow and the rhythm. It is dark, and sad, yet beautiful. Great work.

I also agree with Makosica.
It can be relatable.
Great imagery, by the way.
Very descriptive.
Isolation isn't a pleasure to feel, but, unfortunately, it does happen.
Good job on this.
