A Poem by Julie Spade

The Grand Tower strikes my numbers,

 And my most lonesome memories,

and the glory I have ultimately strived for.

The beauty it beholds within its volts and screws.

My past begins to fade

Like an abstracted haze

Loyalty and pride filled my senses as i stared upon the Great, Big City.

The end of the show Is near

I will shy away in fear

The lowering sound of drumming

The end is soon coming

Years of suspense and ambition

I have finally became something I never wanted to be

An immature child with an odd title of a true adult.

The moment no one wants to be told

You’ve turned 18 years old?!?

Tell me what has happened to those innocent dreams I have once read?

Oh please don’t tell me they will soon turn into a frightening end
