The New Year

The New Year

A Poem by Julie Spade

Death was around 2014
to the deaths of inspirational stars
to the  idealistic thoughts of a
proper economical system.

A flower curls
A bee stings
A child is raped
A man says he's gay

The moment a silver ball
falls..
a baby is born and a sin is caused

We are excited for a new year
a new year for love, fearlessness and
a well-executed government.

A time for personal change,
not by a resolution for a brand new year.

A new 'us'.

to all the people i have befriended
to all the people I've become to grown to hate
let everyday be an opportunity to change
and grow in the most humble way.

I've accepted my flaws
and my odd interpretation of a world that is blooming in cruelty and in beauty.

Goodnight to the year of f*****g 2014,
a time for drinks, a one night stand and
When Harry Meet Sally moment.

as a silver ball
falls to the ground
determining the unknown fate of 2015
AND BE F*****G GRATEFUL THAT YOU MADE IT !
