16A Poem by Julie SpadeYoung and dumb is what I have grown to know but what if it was old and cold, old and told ? I stand for my dream to arise, only !Because I an young Misconceptions stick within your head Whether or not you should appreciate my poem instead Age of 16 Wearing rip colored jeans Looking for a man in his 20's Pressured to buff and blow cigarettes Wearing Nirvana headsets What is it you don't understand Let go of my hand I am not like the others. As you clench me strong and hard Taking me to your car I am in another world Playing superstar In a gay bar The harsh experiences I have had in the past Lets my youthfulness last playing the DreamCast I run miles ahead of you And what do you do ? You run after me But all I see Is the horizon dancing below my feet while I honor your defeat . Because I am young I have innocent tongue Writing for you and for the among. © 2014 Julie Spade |
