Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by r
"

to all the people who saw me everyday and never did a damn thing to stop me

"

These silent haunting screams

will never be heard

you sit in oblivion

and utter not a word

these hands I feel upon me

are so life-like & real

you sit in oblivion

with a face made of steel

this razor to my wrist

it's just so damn good

you sit in oblivion

claiming you did all you could

this full glass in my hand

the liquid burns all down my throat

you sit in oblivion

making me a scapegoat

the cancer between my fingers

going to my lungs

you sit in oblivion

saying there's nothing to be done

the bruises on my body

so easy to see

you sit in oblivion

making life what you want it to be

the noose around my neck

is getting tighter everyday

you sit in oblivion

with nothing else to say

my body in a coffin

planning a funeral date

you say "I sat in oblivion

and now it's too late"

if only you could see

these rivers running red

if you weren't in oblivion you'd know

I'm already dead

This is a masterpiece-seriously, this is just absolutely beautiful and enchanting in its' every single, sorrow-full and destructive way! What you wrote about and the way you wrote this is absolutely magnificent-I'm sure many can relate to this poem, and I really feel that I can. I love the word choice, too-'oblivion', what a fantastic word! I'm in awe... This is going to my favourites; thank you for sharing this!

Very creative how you put each different way of death on here. Most of them we can understand and know when we hear about them, others we're not too sure of and are curious about, so we try them. They are all different forms of escape. Each person has their own way...

A very beautiful and sad piece. It makes you think about what kind of friends you might have. Would they stop you if they saw. Thanks for shraing it with me.

This piece, though depressing in the way, is truly amazing. Painful yet powerful. Beautiful.

A roller coaster ride of anger and disappointment. I could feel the desire of anger get stronger with each line. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
