As Red As It Gets

for the poetry and lyrical challenge group... old challenge but havent got to post XD

So pissed off,

I'm seeing red.

It flashes before my eyes,

And inside my head.

 

The anger boils up,

from inside.

When it bubbles over,

there's no where to hide.

 

'Tis a very dangerous thing

being so mad you see red.

That is what,

my doctors said.

 

When you see it,

as red as it gets,

Some of the horrible things you do,

you forget.

 

Being pissed,

is one thing,

but to see red,

and have your ears ring?

 

This could be hazardous,

to you,

and those who are,

involved in what you do.

 

So if you start to see red

stop for a few,

and remember these,

are some good things to do.

 

Count to ten.

Take a deep breath.

Call someone who can help calm you

and take the weight off your chest.

 

So next time you see red

remember what I just said.

Take a break and calm down for a few,

and then let your rational mind say what to do.

The ending of this poem gives good examples of ways to calm down when you get this upset. I have only been like this few times in my life and it isn't pretty. I get upset easy but calm down just as quickly. This is a great poem.

Very wise words. When we are angry and we see the red and ready to do something wrong. Best to walk away and count to ten. Old wisdom in your words. Words can do permanent damage. A outstanding poem.
