I Wish

we were having a creative arts contest at school and the theme was I wish. this is my entry,

my wish is that

the world would be a better place

the way we're living

is such a disgrace

 

people are mean

with the words that they say

they'll call you many names

such as fat, ugly, or gay

 

people should be nice

to me and you

showing kindness in what

they say and do

 

i wish no one would

quarrel and fight

then little kids

won't go to bed scared at night

 

i wish i could

make people kind

getting nasty, twisted thoughts

out of their minds
