Waiting and Waiting Forever

Waiting and Waiting Forever

A Poem by rachylou

Patiently waiting for her lover to return,
Silently grieving for him going away,
Her midnight blue eyes twinkling with tears,
Still convinced he would return.

At her window refusing to leave in case he passed by,
Thin and pale from the lack of sleep and food,
Cold and lonely in her dark room,
Everyone she loved had left long ago.

She would hear her name and smile with joy,
Only to realise it was the wind whispering,
Every day she became thinner and sicker,
And less convinced he would return.

She would not believe he no longer loved her,
Waiting for his voice to call,
Mariana, Mariana, I have returned,
Waiting and waiting forever!
