Ignorance is BlissA Poem by rachielle
Walk into a mall
And what do you see? All these things related to beauty; People, temporarily carefree- All these, vanity. Walk into a shop, oh boy Such consumer's joy- A discounted imported toy. For a few hours on Sunday, In shopping heaven we stay, And nothing can go wrong. The worst of days are forgotten; The world outside, hidden Once we step into that tiled building. While we divulge into what we want, We forget about those who can't- Those children sleeping on the streets With nothing but death to beat. Such selfishness is a shame, don't you think? As we drown ourselves in our favorite things, Another hungry child, born to die, On the freezing pavements lie. © 2010 rachielleReviews
