Cry and Let Go

An old poem I found in my 2009 planner. I think I initially wrote this to be a song, but I wasn't able to continue it.

I'm not gonna ask for help
Or pity myself.
I'm gonna stay in my own corner-
Try to be bolder-
I'll cry and let go.

Won't think about what I'm losing
Or try choosing my fate.
I won't remember the happy times,
Just say goodbye to those days-
Cry and let go.

Because I know I won't be living a full life
Without losing some light.
I have to accept what destiny
Brings to me
And try
To cry and let go.

I really liked this. This poem pretty much epitomised how I've been feeling over the last couple of years, in particular the last stanza. I liked the fact that this not only expressed your own personal emotions and thoughts, but expressed the thoughts and emotions for a lot of people out there in the world. Simple, yet effective. Very sad, really. The work evokes in me a vision of a very hurt person, so hurt that sharing his or her sadness is not an option.
The work is very well done and evokes emotion, which makes it successful and with you, that seems to be the norm, you should not stop writing and I'm very pleased that you are gong through your old work and making sure that we have record of it. Thanks for sharing with us.
