Into the Blue

Into the Blue

A Poem by rachielle

I sink deeper and deeper

Into the gray blue waters of loneliness-

Only to find an empty pit of melancholy,

At the end waiting for me.

I try coming back up,

But to no avail.

Once again, I have come to fail.

And my only company,

Is melancholy-

Nothing else wants me.

No one dares to dive

And try to come for my rescue.

Not one dared to strive

Into the blue.

... brutally poetic ... extremely poignant ... one can feel the narrator's isolation ... and that feeling of drowning in abandonment ... an extremely moving yet bewitching verse ...

I love your rhymes in this one.
Your poem reminds me of the saying 'I put up walls around me not to stay away from the world, rather to know who'd come and break them down to be with me.' Like the waters, the persona chose to dive to the abysses of loneliness to prove not just her worth but her lover's worth---sadly, not anyone came. If I put it in my terms: she drowned.

A very sad poem, I believe you collected pieces of melancholic images well. Keep it up and be better! :)
