While I know it must feel funny to lose a contest about fire to a poem that isn't explicitly about fire, I do feel you defined fire the best out of anyone in the contest. Fire isn't anger, it isn't lust or desire either, no, you teach us that flame is an allegory for ourselves. That the best and the brightest of us are the ones who jump at any chance, good or bad. For this reason your poem sticks with me, and I look forward to more of your work.
I loved this poem! It's short but it's really effective! Fire is usually seen as a negative and destructive force yet in the space of four lines, you have completely altered that stereotype and crafted fire into something positive. Thank you for sharing! :)
