Saving Rachel

Saving Rachel

A Poem by Rachel Anderson
"

She distracts me with her fire.

"

She is fire;
Her fingers are flames
that boil my blood
which finally chooses to stay
inside me
and my intact veins.

I feel free at last.
You’re my brand new day!
I’m no longer red-handed,
no more crimson stains
on the bathroom floor
covered with shame.

I will never again be trapped
in my mind’s own game.
You have
unshackled my chains.

I like the poem, but I'd love to see you really expand onto it. I can see your emotions, but I can't feel them. Make me feel it.

I am pleased to read this poem. There is such hope and promise and the realization that there is a different way. May this poem be your mantra.
