The Beautifuls

The popular, the famous, the loved. The beautifuls.

We know who they are.
They hold their heads high.
Their names on our lips.
They know we would die
To be one of them,
The few and the brave
Who proudly proclaim
The Beautiful name.

You see, the whole reason
We set out to do
Half of the things
We are not supposed to
Is because the Beautifuls,
Tall and proud,
Who convince us that life
Should be wild and loud.

But the Beautiful people 
We strive to be
Look on from afar
And hope to see
The regular people,
Which includes me,
Proving they aren't
Missing anything.

i love what you're saying here, and i understand the attraction people have to "the beautifuls" but if you take those like kim kardashian , lindsay lohan and paris hilton...i wouldn't give you two cents for any of that "beautiful"...so i hope we all have better taste in beautiful than that....wonderful write, resonant and completely relevant....

Another great sentiment... This is true on so many levels. The "beautiful people" aren't really as beautiful as we believe they are. I have spent a lot of time in Hollywood around the movie business as a screenwriter and I have met a lot of the people who would be considered "beautiful", and they always look so much smaller and less attractive in person. Also, they all say the same thing...they wish they could lead a normal life where they aren't hounded constantly by the media. So, be careful what you wish for, everything comes with a price.

Again, the form of this one is a little choppy, maybe just not the style my ear is used to hearing. A little more imagery and possibly some longer lines might make this read smoother, but overall, nicely done.

I think regular and un noticed people are often way more beautiful than the celebs.... :) that's my opinion, thank you for writing this topic... I love this. Simplicity should be a thousand times better than the obvious.
