body

body

A Poem by rachel ann

all these years you've treated your body as a way in
a way to feel things and receiving things.
you craved the feeling of touch
and cold pills
a simple text and suddenly it's not him who's using you
you're using yourself
letting yourself be abused over and over in order to feel something
you wanted so much more without ever even knowing of it
perhaps you just longed for comfort
all you got in exchange were sore knees and a scratchy throat
nobody can hear your cries in the night

Such a profound thought that as we allow others to 'use' us we are in fact using ourselves. Just wow!

Reality is the breath of a tailpipe...not a fairy-tale kiss....truth makes for a beautiful poem, so this is!:)
