TauntA Poem by Rachel Landes
Loving you
Was like Bathing In the liquid gold Spilling from Sun to sea And when you held me It was with a whisper That if only You could hold me tight enough Maybe Just maybe You could squash My broken pieces Back together Again And fix My shattered Soul And schizophrenic wanderings With a single love potion To overdose on Or grow addicted to But my salvation morphed Into morphine shots My painkillers killed And my pain fled free And now I stand, shot With one last shot With no sun balm For my sunburns And no relief Of arms and lips and touch When nightmares haunt me And I am haunted By my own screams And now I must Shut out your ghost And pack away Those things you stole from me And with empty boxes And minds We ghost forward Shadowing ourselves Too scared to scream
