WaveA Poem by Rachel Landes
How many haters
Do I have to remember Hate me And remember why they never smile back Do I have to hate you back I'd rather not I'd rather see how small it all seems From the Sky So fly Away From it all With the wind That I have to feel To fly What would I do Can't bury the soul Birds fly So I am flying I am doing what I was born to do And when I am done Yes you can step on me You can say what you wish about me And you can start buying flowers for me And give the writer six words on a headstone Words I have never written And my only truth will be a lie And I will finally be captured on the ground In the dirt where I lie Straining inside of me A spark inside The muddled words And worlds Wanting to be spoken But they do not speak to me Do they speak to you I alone Do not even know Who is speaking And the story teller Does not know How her own story goes Did you know that no one knows What is going on What on earth Is really on earth What doesn't dream Of grazing the clouds and sky And being their own skyline And defying gravity Because gravity is For those who believe In coming down to earth Like dropping leaves Like flies Like bees The buzz is that I am forever Lost To this world And you can find me In an alternative Book By Another writer When you read my writing And see the gaps And that will be your fulfilment
