Partisan Deallignment

Partisan Deallignment

A Poem by Rachel Landes

Don’t get me excited
That is not a feeling
Don’t want to feel anger
That’s not feeling
So what makes me get up and scream
With feeling
Is you

And when I see your shoulders curl forward
And your eyes empty of emotion
All I need to do
Is think of that
Is think of you
And I will get out of my box
Stand on the box
And crush it with my screams

And I will get the whole world
To read this
So that they have
Something worth having
And feel
Something worth feeling

Maybe if you see me
In my writing
It will come alive
And it will all be real to you
For a moment
For forever
And in the space between us two

Two I spell like too
And cast a spell
Between the two
When we mirror minds
And we are the same
And the world alligns
Once again

No longer insane
Water we cannot drink
Life that kills
When it waves
Hello

Oh, it is like separated souls
Like leaves on the ground
Nature becomes unnatural
And we start pulling strings

I have so much to say
But cannot simply say it
Or say it simply
And normally
In an abnormal world

But we meet in the drawings
And doodles
And the writing
On the walls
And stars
And flying metal

I have hit me head
And Wi11 drink up
On life
But Will never get drunk

Be more than what you are
And live for more than this life
And circle
So that we will not go round
In circles
For forever

Like Liam
In the story
Of telling stories
On paper
For all to see
I circled your name
From the second I saw
Your halo
