Feel the Music

Feel the Music

A Poem by Rachel

I wake up into bright light, filling every corner of the room with its touch of sunshine. Soft, romantic music plays somewhere in the distance, luring me with its gentle rhythms and haunting melodies. I answer the call, gliding effortlessly across the floor, feeling the notes inside me, never wanting it to end. I continue to move ever closer to the core, to finding the true and secret meaning of these sounds. They have been playing inside my head for days, mocking me, daring me to draw them out into the open, and now that I finally have, it feels like I have unlocked an inner chest of pure happiness and exhiliration. My feet leap off of the ground, carrying me high into the air, with the promise of never bringing me back down into sorrow again. As the music comes to an end and I come back down to earth, I know that something has changed. The sweet melodies that floated in the air with me have saved me from the black hole that I had been living in, and have have replaced it with complete contentment, so that I can live again.

"I have unlocked an inner chest of pure happiness and exhilaration" this is usually how I feel when I've heard really good music. Nice work.
