Unsteady

Unsteady

A Poem by rachel
"

This is about smiling when all you want to do is cry. It's about false impressions.

"

The realization hits hard.

With rising emotions unsteadily tamed

With fidgeting hands, and a racing heart

I make calls

Leave voicemails

To friends that I know

Won’t pick up the phone at work.

But it's better that way.

I haven't polished up my rusty voice

So that you can believe me

When I say I'm fine.

Denial is my ally.

Ignorance is their curse.

Let them draw their own conclusions.

Let them be happy ones.

Title needs work. I know. I wrote this while half-asleep. (I really am hardly staying awake at the keyboard right now). So if there are major flaws, I blame the sleep depravation for now.

A interesting poem. The world of internet, voice mails and missed phone calls. I get overtaken by it all. I need the old fashion meet and conversation. Poem told a good story. Better to fake happiness then to show sadness. A very good poem.
