Dusk

Dusk

A Poem by Rachel Creed
"

A short piece about lust.

"

break the ice

shake the dust

off this rose

beginning to rust.

seize it up

and  hold it tight

for our time

is running short.

i see this love

is but a flame

smoldering on the surface

and seething beneath,

the final grains of sand

are destined to fall

as will we.

do not hesitate

to pick these petals

do not guess,

believe;

break the ice

shake the dust

take my rose

before dusk.

Message: Don't hesitate to love one another, for tomorrow is not a promise.
Lust is a basic need fulfilled by passion. This speaks of that passion in a way that pulls in the erotic depth and makes it clear. That kind of flame can heat anyone's soul who is so fortunate.

Which is a major theme of Romeo and Juliet in my opinion.
