Lick

Lick

A Poem by sugarandsap

Cigarette stained teeth, cognac soaked lies.
A tongue as pure as gold, a heart as heavy as stone.
A nose runs red from the white of crushed snow, his words so soft, speaks of the world he imagines to be sweet like the candy he licks when life becomes too hard.
And I just watch.
Lick, lick, lick.

Lick, lick indeed - just watching someone 'snort' themselves to oblivion can only be a turn off! have you heard; A company called Legal Lean is touting snortable chocolate known as Coco Loko as a legal, drug-free energy kick. Wonder if it's gluten free????? Nice short write - you might consider changing the third/forth stanzas - thus:

A nose runs red from the white of crushed snow
His words so soft, speaks of the world he imagines
To be sweet like the candy he licks when
Life becomes too hard

Bless :-)
