ocean deep love

ocean deep love

A Poem by sugarandsap

The sea pales into a light blue as though it mimics the soul of the sky. When the night arises a black velvet curtain closes on the heavens above and the sea will become lost as it fades to a deep sad ebony. The tide cries out for the friend of light and the waves grow larger as they search for something that they will not find. The sky, selfless, allows the stars to shine bright, contrast to its painted satin appeal. The sky loves the stars, asking them to dance for him, to play with him, to come out in his hours of lonesome. In the morning the stars are no longer welcome. They know they are the other woman but they like it that way. As do I. The sky now a faded pink, blushing, begs the sea to keep such a secret. The sea burns to a red tint, rage and love exhaust its pigment. The secret will be kept. The ocean loves the sky and the sky loves the stars, yet the stars do not love anyone. They burn with passion and pulse, but not with love. Like the sun and the moon long for a love of their own, they cannot find, they have not met but they could be soul mates. The universe as cruel as the love we crave.
