Disease

Disease

A Poem by Rachelah
"

How does disease and death choose Its victims?

"

Took him whom I’ve never met
Never met because he died before I was born
Now, turns its hungry eyes down one generation
Takes anyone, nothing matters, bonds of love it scorns
Desires life, it does not matter whose
He is a good man, does not deserve this
I have not stopped crying since I found out
Fate brings in, malady’s looming kiss
Just does not seem possible
This tragedy has not yet settled in
Regardless, simple things set me off
Crying again, this is punishment for whose sin?
I just cannot understand
How is it fair this death runs in the family?
How have any of the dead deserved this?
Why You do this I just cannot see
Do You take the good ones
Before You take the bad?
Bring the worthy up to Heaven
But leave the undeserving to be sad?
Give him the happiness he deserves, I pray
Tell me, without him, how will we survive a day?

wow this was really well done, I must say. It was very downfilling and sad, I think my heart just sank even lower than where it is right now. "He is a good man, does not deserve this
I have not stopped crying since I found out" -- full of emotion, yes.

good write. very heart-breaking & sad. it does seem those people who are needed the most are the ones who go before us. it seems god takes the best, & leaves the rest of us to our grief. i think the flow of this poem is good. deep, emotional poem.
