1) sadness won't be a choice for you because you'll be born with the same flaw in your system but that shouldn't stop you from being happy

2) it will be okay. some days you'll want to lay in bed until 12 and I'll let you but eventually you will have to face the world and I'll help you

3) always carry headphones in your pocket in case the girl you like loses hers and asks to borrow them next period

4) one day there will be a girl, or boy, who comes into your life and grows sunflowers in the darkest parts of your rib cage and they'll leave and you'll want to hurt yourself; don't. you're better than that and there is someone out there who will love you and the madness that lives inside you

5) everyone has a past. whether it was s****y or not, be nice and always be honored when someone has the guts to open up to you

6) take care of yourself first. mental health comes before education and your job

7) it's okay to keep your innocence to yourself. there's no time limit to it and don't feel pressured to do it. save it for the girl who will be overjoyed to share the last pure part of you

8) do not push anyone into something they don't feel comfortable doing; sex, drugs, cheating on the math test, etc.

9) do what makes you happy as long as it's safe

10) if you want a tattoo, wait 6 months. if you still like it, get it. get one tattoo once a year. make it meaningful because it is permanent

11) befriend every type of person. they'll teach you things I can't

12) don't be afraid to ask questions. you're human and you deserve answers to the reasonings behind the actions of the universe

13) listen to the girl talk about her day, to your friend rant about chem class, to your girlfriend cry over her favorite song. always listen

14) mean what you say but be careful because words have the power to bring someone up and to tie the noose around their neck

15) stand up for the kid who gets pushed against the locker. he'll remember you in 6 years

16) you have a purpose to be on this earth and to breathe the same air as everyone else. we are a rare kind. don't be ashamed of yourself, there's no one else like you
