Cherry TreeA Poem by RaccoonFoxJust a horror poem
Cherry tree, a beauty times three
Under your roots a pair of eyes are looking at me Their yellow gleam is something to be seen For it embraces the sun in a horrible sheen I turn and run in the midnight sun only to look back.. Cherry tree how could it be? The pair of eyes seem closer to me The yellow orbs with pupils as slits seem to be inching closer to me every little bit I turn and run faster, only to glance over my shoulder one more time... Cherry tree, your pink blossoms a bloom I see claws now, does this mean doom? White as silk do they gleam in the moon Long and sharp, along with those eyes Can't anyone hear my cries? Losing my footing I trip taking a sort of dip into the cold wet grass... Cherry tree your blossoms now glisten red Does that mean I am nothing more than dead? The claws are cold against my warm damp skin And suddenly I feel teeth sinking in I look up one last time and the last thing I see? Those dreadful eyes ontop of me, along with a toothy grin before fading into the darkness within... A young girl, between twelve to sixteen Is running around the tree A bandage on her knee The only one to be seen Her eyes full of a lively gleam Her hair in tight braids with bows Everything a joyous undertow She frolics and dances Around those silly branches Only to be seen by eyes with a horrible yellow sheen Under the roots of the tree © 2016 RaccoonFox |
