The Ex Marks the Spot

The Ex Marks the Spot

A Poem by Relvester

Girl if you were a cat and my love was a cookie,
then baby you would be one fat and happy p***y
Bright lights and a thousand signs
but girl that doesn't mean its gonna work out like the first time
Carving hearts with your pen and a paper
but if you'd just take the time
to see the other side you'd read
"i hate her",
written over and over in blood red ink
But you just smile at me and wink
How could you break my heart the first time
(you smiled and walked away)
it's like you got a paralyzing kiss
and you leave me here to die.
Why? Why? Why,
Couldn't I see you two-faced gaze
before I found out it was just too late
Girl if you were a star, and I was blind,
you would've been so damn bright that I could find you
and say you were mine
Blurry eyes and a thousand fights
but baby all it means is that we work it out unlike the first time
A silver heart and a chain around your neck,
but if you would've taken the time,
to see whats inside,
you;d read "i love you" and see a picture of our first kiss
Those are the things I'm gonna miss
How could you break my heart-IT WAS MINE
(you smiled and walked away)
you act like you got nothing to miss
so don;t walk up to me and act like we're fine
Why? Why? Why,
Couldn't I see your two-faced gaze,
I guess I'll never know cause it's too late
the Ex marks the spot.
