I Fell For You

I Fell For You

A Poem by Relvester

take a step back
watch me fall for you
front row seat to the evening news
this came in
boy fell 100 feet
his lungs caved in
what a tragedy
who couldve stopped this all from happening?
you sit quietly
tears fall from your eyes
then all but suddenly
you come to realize that you're to blame
Im at the edge of a bridge 100 feet from the water,
thinking of you
they say the first step is always the hardest
so i skipped to step two
now im falling into the night
im falling quietly
tears form in the corner of my eyes
but im smiling
im ready for the deep dive
i left the edge of the bridge
im 50 feet from the water
thinking of you
they say the first step was the easiest
and now im falling into the black and blue of the night
at first i hold my breath
but then i let it out
the water is cold
and i open my mouth
the water fills my lungs and burns right through my soul
but it didnt fill the confines of my heart-shaped hole
IN MY CHEST
youll never get me back
Watch me fall for you
front row seat to the evening news
this came in
boy fell 100 feet
his lungs caved in
and you couldve stopped this all from happening
