Welcome to JerichoA Poem by R.C.A.From Shattered Glass, the first installment in The Necessary World Poetry TrilogyHold on tight forever To a dream that’s dying, Where it seems impossible To reach to the finale, So, there’s blood and war; frigid cold and snow… Strolling along the boardwalk pier, Hanging onto a hope that’s flying, And a crazy dream that’s dying, As you cross where blood spilt once, And swords lay, with the fallen soldiers. You wish upon a star, And give it all your strength, And your might, ‘cause forever lay memories, Unforgiving and unforgotten, Sealed in the ancient, crumbling walls. Carrying out, flying out a message That, you can stay strong, Even in all the wear and tear, battles of them all, And ancient experience that can hold you back, Back in a world of such great mysteries. A city lay within the east Historically ancient and crumbling, Except the supporting bulwark So protective and concealing the magic Within its ancient lands. A broken bauble rests, Covered with the sandy dunes, Representing no religious freedom…anymore, Difficult to state its history and travels, Down the traceable path, permanently destroyed. You hear tears shedding; The bulwark is crying, With simply nothing to protect. But just let it shine. (Let it shine) Destroyed by war Is the ancient city of Jericho, Where it was burned in the fire night of the flames so bright, Straight to the ground, hidden are the objects, once bestowed upon.
