Letter Two

Letter Two

A Chapter by Quinn W

Dear Jessie,
I've never written to a ghost before. Or conversed with one at all. I'm Haley. Your story sounds interesting. I'd definitely like to know more. Since you gave me a bit of background on you, I guess I should give some about me too. I'm from Saratoga Springs, New York originally. It was pretty hard for me, moving here. I had to sell two of my horses, Macy and Pharaoh. Macy was a chestnut brown horse that would like your hand every time you went to pet her. Pharaoh was grey and he had black spots on his rear. He was nice but not very social. He definitely preferred to be left alone unless you were riding him. He was a great horse to ride.
My mom passed away as well. She died from breast cancer two years ago and that's part of the reason we moved. I guess my dad decided New York was too personal for him and my mom and decided Maine was better. He got a job opportunity and that was it decided. Enough stalling now. Tell me your story, Jessie.
Intrigued,
Haley

As you can well imagine, I’m intrigued by this intro & wondering how much of it is autobiographical about you? I’m guessing there might be some truth here. But overall, I wish more people would introduce themselves this way. Most people don’t give any good details, just dumb gibberish. Here you really paint a full portrait (despite the perfect amount of brevity) that gives the other person a warm feeling & a lingering curiosity to get to know this person more. Great details of the horses, both in looks & personality. Glad to find something of yours I haven’t read yet! *smile* Fondly, Margie
