Where Is My God Now?

Where Is My God Now?

A Poem by Quinn W

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

I prayed and I prayed

For my Savior in the skies

But there He stayed

Bringing tears to my eyes.

What did I do

To deserve this torture,

I ask of You

Why, Scorcher.

Guard my heart

Guard my mind

My life, You part

And leave me behind.

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Do You really love me?

People say You do

That this trial is to strengthen me,

And I should thank You.

But how do I thank

The one bringing me down

How do I give thanks

With my knees on the ground.

I can't remember reading poetry from you, but this is every bit as strong as your storytelling. I love the rhyme & rhythm, which seems to give off a belligerent attitude, as if challenging someone who let you down. I don't agree with this outlook, but you've captured it perfectly, the way many people think God is about fulfilling our needs & expectations (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
