I Surrender

I Surrender

A Poem by Quinn W
"

A poem about me surrendering to my anxiety.

"
I surrender.
I surrender in hopes that one day You will leave me alone.
That You will find someone else to prey on.
Of depression, You've caused me to be prone.
Stealing my sleep, I yawn.
I surrender.
I surrender yet still You attack.
I'm scared of everything.
Constantly peering over my back.
You've happily caused so much suffering.
I surrender.
I've surrendered and now I can't leave my house.
The outside world is a terror to me.
You've locked me in a cage like a mouse.
i'm begging You, head on my knee.
I surrender.
I've surrendered my right to feel in control.
I look around and all I see is remnants of You.
You've reduced me to only a part of a whole.
Although I'm upset, I like it too.

The ending line is familiar to me, after some time the evil of depression becomes a part of our life and we unknowingly start to like it, which is heartbreaking... The pain in your voice speaking up here, and the reader can understand what the poet want to say... Well done mate...

Sincerely
Dhiman
