All Great Minds Welcome HereA Poem by QuillThis was inspired by a sign on the door to a closet in my English class (It says, "All Great Minds Welcome Here). I know in reality, it is just a storage closet. But then again, I have never actually checked.....Always in English class, I am distracted Something taunting me, teasing me A world waiting to be opened. "All Great Minds Welcome Here" the sign reads It hangs on the door handle, that mysterious door! Swinging like a ticking clock, asking time's permission. Curiousity leaps forth, as if it was waiting forever No one is looking, and I open the door. It's just a closet! What I am doing? Who cares? I don't know that time is yielding for me Am I a great mind? I tell myself so As I feel like I belong in the closet. The Closet? Once again, why? I step inside and the door creaks shut. Now I am in darkness Evil, pain, but I am not scathed For time is protecting me.
