JahariA Poem by QuestA dedication to my son!Jahari
As I watch him grow I reflect to a moment in time when a gift was given to Me! It was destine to be my destiny. I remember the first time I laid eyes on him, I was speechless. We locked eyes and gazed, how amazed I was cause… I didn’t know what to say. What a gift he was, My Boy! I would watch him breath at night, I’d kiss his tiny fingers, and rub his hair. How amazed I was. I would show him around the house or if we were out I would show him the world. So proud to call him mines. I would look at him and wonder if I was good enough to be his. I felt like I had to fight to provide for those innocent eyes. Now that he’s older I still find myself fighting for my life so his will be better. God, don’t let me fail him. Look at how he’s grown, finally using to restroom on his own, brushing his teeth, putting on his clothes, as I kiss his peach fuzz cheeks. One day he’ll be a man so God help me be the Best that I can. I trust I will be for You, for Me, and for Jahari.
