Betrayed by MemoryA Poem by sutoraikaOur mind has a way of turning its back on us, doesn't it?When did it betray me? An image triggering a memory, a song heard on the radio, or perhaps a familiar perfume? Either way, it has betrayed me by making me remember, thus, causing my heart pain again. I commanded it to quiet down - stop its ebb and flow of memories buried long ago. Yet, here they return, wounding me and sparking anger. Violent uncontrollable wrath. All because of a triggering memory. My mind has betrayed me again. Causing me unbearable pain again. © 2008 sutoraika |
