I Beg...A Poem by Queen LibraA poem I wrote in high school for an assignment while studying sonnets.
If you had not left me that winter's day;
And perhaps if we had walked different paths. What if I had not asked you to stay? What if we hadn't exchanged such angry wrath Instead of simply saying our goodbyes? I ran from you, I ran from the truth. And Instead of spewing such horrible lies, I should have given you another chance To reconcile the differences between Us. If, say, I had forgiven you then, And we had broken through this icy sheen Then we could be together once again. Though, I fear, if I were not that brave, I would not be crying here at your grave.
