A Gallery of Fairytales

A Gallery of Fairytales

A Poem by Queen Libra
"

The very first poem I wrote. Please be nice, I was only fourteen!

"
Up upon the balcony,
Where Romeo had sung to thee,
The stars had glittered with endless shine,
Comforting this heart of mine.

In times of heartbreak and despair,
The prince thus climbed on Rapunzel’s hair.
To save this damsel in distress,
Our hero conquered all the rest.

Hercules on mountain high,
Upon winged horse he doth fly.
Evil monster soon was slain,
Upon mighty mountain shall he remain.

Sleeping beauty, oh so fair,
With only one her love to share.
Eternal slumber was her curse,
Of course, true love could be far worse.

Cinderella, slave gone wild,
A temperament so fair and mild.
Midnight was the curfew set,
A pumpkin carriage was her debt.

A moment passes; golden souls,
Tainted now; our newfound roles.
Coming now the path ahead,
Days now filled with pounding dread.

Ancient myths and fairy tales,
A whole new world is then unveiled.
Help to turn back the hands of time,
And keep these dying tales alive.
